St Mary's College RFC

It is with both pleasure and pride that I welcome all our guests, visitors, players and members to our website. I hope you visit the site frequently and find the content both interesting and informative.

During the summer months we have carried out major refurbishment works to our main pitch to ensure the best possible playing surface for the coming season and we look forward to watching many games of quality rugby that can be enjoyed by both players and supporters alike.

Last season provided a rich harvest for St.Mary’s and despite our disappointment at losing narrowly in the final of the AIL, we are eagerly looking forward to the forthcoming campaign. To our Club Captain Paul Nash and his squad, Director of Rugby Dave Donohoe, Senior Coach Ciaran Potts and Management Team under Terry Tierney, I extend my best wishes for another very successful AIL campaign. I also wish our other team captains, coaches, managers and players a most enjoyable season and success in their competitions.

New members ,both playing and social are especially welcome at St Marys so why not download an application form today?

I am acutely aware of the costs associated with running a successful rugby club and the importance of attracting sponsorship. In that regard I would like to make special mention of Michael Cullen, Chief Executive Investec Ireland, for whom last season was their last as our main sponsor. Thus comes to an end a happy and successful 10 year partnership with St.Mary’s on whose behalf I extend sincere and grateful thanks for such wonderful support.  To Paul Dean of Umbro and to all our sponsors I say thank you for your generous and continuing support. I wish also to thank most sincerely all who advertise in our Yearbook and all who advertise on the hoardings around our main pitch. Thanks also to all who support the various fundraising activities throughout the year and all who attend our hugely popular pre match lunches.

Here at St.Mary’s we believe that properly structured competitive club rugby is imperative for the development of players and the success of Irish rugby. It is our intention therefore to continue to encourage and develop players at all skills levels at Templeville Road.

Have a wonderful season everyone

Ronnie Mc Brien,

President, St Mary’s College RFC.
