Welcome Message From The President
It is with pride and pleasure that I write these notes of welcome to all our members and friends for what we hope will be another successful season in the life of St Mary’s College RFC.
The purpose of our Club is of course the playing of Rugby Union and like all of us I am proud to say that we do it very well, enjoying much success at all levels. We are widely praised for our style of play and we have a proud heritage of open honest rugby played competitively and aggressively, but always fairly in the best spirit of sport.
Needless to say, our holy grail is another AIL Division One win to match that memorable win over 10 years ago, in order to cement our place as Ireland‘s leading Club. This season the League is expanded to 10 teams with 5 of these from Leinster and no plays-offs. There is also a limit on the number of contracted players. All these ingredients will suit St Mary’s and our first team led by Hugh Hogan, coaches Peter Smyth, Steven Hennessy, Ciaran Potts and James Norton; Manager Terry Tierney and Director of Rugby Kevin Conboy are determined to be ready and to perform to the best oftheir abilities. We have the will and we have the talent, so bring it on!
New members, both playing and social are especially welcome at St Marys so why not download an application form today?
