IRFU Bud Light Tag Comes To St. Marys College RFC

The 2010 Tag Rugby season is shaping up to be the biggest and best to date with St Marys College RFC/Templeogue College starting its first year as a Bud Light Tag venue. This is the only official IRFU TAG Rugby programme in Ireland and registration of teams will open on Thursday January 7th 2010, with the leagues running from May to July.

The growth of Bud Light Tag has been phenomenal and this year’s programme expects to see over 190 teams come to Templeville each week of the season to enjoy a packed summer of fun.

"Last year’s leagues exceeded expectations to the point that we have again expanded the number of venues, allowing for more teams and players to take part, said IRFU Bud Light Tag Manager Olly Hodges.

"The social aspect of TAG and its ability to attract players who may never have even set foot in a rugby club before has been not only a boost to the venue club in term of revenues, but also to the possibility of attracting new members."

The Bud Light Tag leagues caters for all levels of skill and fitness for mixed social, men's and women's teams. The growth of Tag Rugby has been successful in spreading the popularity of the game of rugby and its non-contact nature and social aspect have made it accessible to both men and women in the specially graded levels. And thats not all, in the true tradition of rugby being a 'game of two halves', the games are only the first half of a Bud Light Tag evening before heading to the clubhouse.
